Nokia 4.2, 6.1 Plus and 8.1 removed from official online store in India

In some countries, Nokia Mobile has their official online store offering customers to buy Nokia phones directly from them, instead of visiting retailers or operators. In the online store for India, Nokia Mobile recently removed some devices announced last year and in 2018.

The customers in India are now unable to buy the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 4.2 from the official online store. Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 8.1 were announced in late 2018, making them almost a year and a half old devices, while the Nokia 4.2 was announced at MWC2019. In the fast moving industry like the smartphone industry is, it makes sense to have shorter device lifecycles considering customers always want the devices to have the latest “specs”. That contradicts logically with the reports that we are using our smartphones longer, but both of these findings depend on the country research is conducted in.

I hope spare parts and software support will be on a satisfying level for these devices, considering they have around two more years of software support.
