Original flip cases eliminate one of the key feature of newer Nokia smartphones
|With the Nokia 3.2 and 4.2 announced at MWC2019, Nokia Mobile showcased an interesting and handy feature that helps deal with the problem of displaying notification indicators to users. With the mentioned devices, and current midrange offering Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2, Nokia Mobile decided to put the notification LED into the power button, which proved to be a very good solutions, especially if you put your device upside down on the table.
The original cover-book for 7.2/6.2 has a serious design flaw, which consists in the fact that there is no hole in the cover for the indicator@sarvikas pay attention to this problem, it is important. @NokiaMobile @NokiamobBlog @Nokiapoweruser @teampureview pic.twitter.com/Y3UwkaijZY

So you can imagine the surprise of users of Nokia 7.2, 6.2, 4.2 or 3.2 that decided to buy a original Nokia Flipcase that renders the notification button semi-useless. Considering the button has the role of the power button and notification light, using non-transparent material for the sides of the filp cover proved to be a bad decision, especially for the users that really appreciate the notification power button and maybe that was one of the reasons why they decided to buy the device in the first place.
The official clear cases aren’t affected by this, because they are transparent. Only the official Flip Covers have this problem. Users that like the notification LED in the power button should be careful when buying cases to make sure the case will be transparent enough the light from the LED can get through. Nokia Mobile should make sure their accessories help bring out the best features of their devices and not eliminate some of the better ones.
Thanks Alexander for the heads up. 🙂
