Nokia Mobile today officially announced the Nokia 2.2, the latest addition to the portfolio of Nokia smartphones. The affordable Nokia 2.2 continues the design language of the Nokia 3.2 and 4.2 we saw at MWC19, but pushes the price further down.
The Nokia 2.2 comes with a 5.71-inch display with brightness up to 400nits, featuring a teardrop notch on the top with a 5MP camera with face recognition. Inside clocks MediaTek’s Helio A22 SoC in combination with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
The back is made of polycarbonate with a reflective finish, while on the left side the device features a dedicated Google Assistant button. The backside is removable and Nokia Mobile is also offering Xpress-on covers with the device. The battery inside has 3000mAh of capacity and is charged via the legacy MicroUSB2.0 port.
The rear camera has a 13MP sensor with single flash. The camera comes with features such as AutoHDR and “Low light image fusion” technology. The device comes with Android 9 Pie, but will be updated to Android Q.
Nokia 2.2 will be available in Black and Steel and will go on sale on June 11th in India. The 2GB/16GB variant will retail for INR 6,999 or 89 euros, with the 3GB/32GB variant priced at INR7,999 or 102 euros. The device should also appear in Europe at a price point of 99 euros.
