Nokia 8.1 in 6GB+128GB memory configuration coming in January 2019

Nokia Mobile announced last week the Nokia 8.1, Snapdragon 710 Powered “value flagship” priced at 399 euros. The same device was locally announced 2 days ago in India (at 26,999INR or 330 euros), during a well-organized “ExpectMore” event. The 8.1 is actually the global version of Nokia X7 announced in China few months ago, where Nokia offers the device in 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB memory configurations. Nokia 8.1 comes in just one configuration – 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

That is until next month, when the 6GB/128GB version of Nokia 8.1 should be available in selected markets. This info is reported by 91mobiles.com, that conducted a short interview/conversation with HMD’s Ajey Mehta, VP for India, who revealed that the 6GB/128GB memory configuration of Nokia 8.1 will be available in India next month, and will also be released in other “selected markets” like Taiwan.

We don’t know in which markets and at what price tag will the higher memory configuration Nokia 8.1 variant retail. If you remember, the Nokia 8 was also released in a 6GB/128GB variant in selected markets, but most of the world got the standard 4GB/64GB variant. If you really want more memory in Nokia 8.1, waiting a month might be a good choice to see the market availability. The 8.1 will hit the Old Continent in January, and then we should know if the higher memory variant will appear somewhere else than India and Taiwan.
