Redmi K100 launches with huge 10,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite

Redmi K100

Redmi has officially launched the K100 in China, positioning it as a performance-focused phone with an unusually large 10,000mAh battery. The device combines flagship-grade Snapdragon silicon, a high-refresh OLED display, and fast 100W wired charging at a starting price of CNY 3,499, or approximately $525.

The K100 is the latest addition to Redmi’s K series and arrives with three storage configurations and three color options. Its battery capacity is the headline feature, placing it among the largest ever fitted to a mainstream smartphone.

Large OLED display and premium features

The Redmi K100 features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision and reaches up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor visibility and HDR content.

Redmi has also equipped the phone with an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. Compared with optical sensors, ultrasonic readers can offer faster unlocking and improved reliability in certain conditions.

Dual cameras and durable design

On the rear, the K100 uses a dual-camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 sensor with optical image stabilization. It is paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

For selfies and video calls, the phone includes a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. While the rear setup is relatively straightforward, the inclusion of OIS on the main sensor should help improve low-light shots and video stability.

The K100 carries an IP69K rating, indicating strong protection against dust and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and dual 5G support.

Snapdragon power and HyperOS 4

Under the hood, the Redmi K100 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The phone ships with Android 17-based HyperOS 4, which includes a range of AI-driven features.

Among them is the Super Xiao AI 2.0 assistant, Redmi’s updated AI helper. The software is designed to handle tasks such as answering questions, managing device functions, and assisting users across everyday workflows.

Pricing and storage options

The Redmi K100 starts at CNY 3,499, or roughly $525, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. Redmi also offers a 12GB/512GB model at CNY 4,099, or about $615, and a 16GB/512GB variant at CNY 4,499, or approximately $675.

With its 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging, flagship chipset, and high-refresh display, the K100 targets users who prioritize endurance and performance. Xiaomi has not announced international availability, so its global launch plans remain unclear.
