Pixel 11a Rumors: Spring 2027 Launch, Expected Price Hike, and Full Specs

Consumers eyeing Google’s next mid-range smartphone might need to prepare for a price hike. Emerging reports suggest the upcoming Google Pixel 11a, tentatively slated for a spring 2027 release, will launch with a starting price of $599—a notable $100 increase over the previous Pixel 10a.

Despite the rumored premium, early design leaks indicate Google is playing it safe aesthetically. The Pixel 11a appears to inherit the core design language of its immediate predecessors, featuring a camera module that sits flush against the rear panel. However, this module is reportedly adopting a more compact, elliptical shape, leaving the LED flash positioned entirely outside the housing. The device is expected to measure 153.46 by 72.35 by 9 millimeters, making it slightly shorter than the Pixel 10a, and will reportedly be available in four colorways: Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Orchid.

Visually, the Pixel 11a is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch 1080p display equipped with a 60Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel is expected to be remarkably bright for the mid-range tier, potentially reaching a peak brightness of 3,350 nits and a high-brightness mode (HBM) of 2,250 nits. Keeping the device running is a substantial 5,100mAh battery.

Internally, Google is reportedly outfitting the “a-series” device with flagship-level silicon. Unlike the Pixel 10a, the upcoming model is expected to house the same Tensor G6 processor found in the mainline Pixel 11 series, paired with a MediaTek M90 modem for connectivity. On the software side, it will launch with Android 17 out of the box and benefit from Google’s industry-leading commitment to seven years of OS, feature, and security updates.

For mobile photographers, the rear camera array remains familiar, maintaining the 48-megapixel primary sensor and 13-megapixel ultrawide lens seen in previous iterations. The front-facing camera, however, is slated for a modest upgrade to a 10.5-megapixel sensor.
