OnePlus 16 Crushes AnTuTu with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme
OnePlus is preparing to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 16, and newly leaked AnTuTu benchmarks suggest the device will deliver unprecedented processing power. Expected to debut in China next month, the handset recently surfaced on the testing platform running Qualcomm’s unreleased 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (SM8975) chipset.
The testing unit registered a staggering 5,384,433 points on AnTuTu V12, positioning it among the highest-performing smartphones in the platform’s database. The overall rating breaks down into a CPU score of 1,458,283, a GPU score of 2,010,584, a memory score of 766,362, and a UX score of 1,149,204.
The benchmarked configuration featured 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage running on Android 17 with ColorOS 17. Upon release, OnePlus is expected to offer multiple memory tiers, including 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/512GB options.
OnePlus 16: Major Hardware Overhauls
Beyond processing power, supply chain leaks indicate that OnePlus is aggressively upgrading the device’s optical hardware and battery capacity to address criticisms leveled at the previous generation.
The camera module is tipped to feature a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor (1/1.4-inch), flanked by a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Powering the upgraded hardware is a rumored 9,000mAh battery—an enormous capacity for a traditional slab smartphone—supported by 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
The display also sees a notable upgrade. The OnePlus 16 will reportedly utilize a 6.78-inch BOE X4 panel featuring a 165Hz system-wide refresh rate, which can scale up to 185Hz during compatible gaming sessions.
Uncertain Global Availability
While the OnePlus 16 is slated for an October launch in the Chinese market, its international future remains uncertain. Emerging reports suggest the company may reconsider a wider global release for this specific model, though OnePlus has not issued an official statement regarding its international roadmap.
