Vivo T5 5G India Launch: The Ultimate Mid-Range Battery Powerhouse?

Vivo T5 5G

Vivo has officially expanded its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Vivo T5 5G. Positioned in the highly competitive mid-range segment, the new device aims to capture the market with a colossal battery, a vivid curved AMOLED display, and a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence tools.

Here is a closer look at what the Vivo T5 brings to the table ahead of its September 9 rollout.

Power and Display

At the heart of the Vivo T5 is the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset. The processor features an octa-core architecture—four performance cores clocking up to 2.6GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. To keep the device cool during intensive tasks and prolonged gaming sessions, Vivo has integrated a 3,800mm² vapor chamber as part of a larger thermal management system.

The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.83-inch curved AMOLED display. It features a crisp 2800 x 1260 resolution, a fluid 144Hz maximum refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The panel also includes SGS-certified eye-care technology to reduce strain during extended use.

Vivo T5 5G: Unprecedented Battery Life

One of the most defining features of the Vivo T5 is its massive 7,050mAh battery. According to Vivo, this high-capacity cell can deliver up to 85 hours of music playback or 34.7 hours of continuous video streaming.

While the 44W charging speed is relatively modest compared to some competitors, Vivo claims the battery is built for longevity, retaining its optimal health for up to 1,600 charge cycles.

Cameras and AI-Driven Software

For photography, the Vivo T5 relies on a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with Sony’s IMX882 sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). This is paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens on the rear, while a 32-megapixel front-facing sensor handles selfies and video calls. Both the front and rear systems are capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames per second.

On the software front, the device runs OriginOS 6, based on the newly released Android 16. Vivo is leaning heavily into software longevity and utility, promising three generations of Android OS updates and five years of security patches. The operating system also introduces a suite of on-device AI tools designed for text editing, audio transcription, automatic captioning, document management, and photo cleanup.

Durability and Connectivity

Despite its sleek curved design, the Vivo T5 is built to withstand the elements, carrying both IP68 and IP69 ratings for top-tier dust and water resistance.

Other hardware features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-standby 5G support across two nano-SIM slots. Notably absent from the spec sheet, however, are a microSD card slot, an FM radio, and NFC support.

The Vivo T5 will go on sale starting September 9, 2026. It will be available for purchase via Flipkart, Vivo’s official online store, and authorized retail partners across India.
