Xiaomi 18 Pro Renders Reveal New AI Button and Enhanced Rear Display

Months ahead of its anticipated official release, a new set of leaked renders has provided an early glimpse into the Xiaomi 18 Pro. While the current images depict an internal structural schematic rather than a polished final product, they highlight several key design strategies for the upcoming flagship—most notably the retention of the secondary screen and the introduction of a brand-new hardware feature.
The most significant addition to the upcoming generation appears to be a physical button mounted on the side of the device, exclusively dedicated to artificial intelligence. According to industry leaks, this customizable key is engineered for instant, one-press access to various AI-driven features, adapting to different user contexts.
This hardware shortcut is also expected to act as a bridge to Xiaomi’s broader tech ecosystem. While smart home and electric vehicle integration is already a staple of the brand, a dedicated physical button could make controlling these connected devices—from smart appliances to compatible EVs—considerably faster and more intuitive.
The renders confirm that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will maintain the wide camera plateau housing a triple-lens setup, alongside a secondary rear display. Although these early blueprints do not guarantee the final aesthetic, they align perfectly with the company’s established trajectory.

Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, previously stated that the brand intends to evolve the rear screen from a simple decorative element into a highly practical tool. The current iteration already supports features like real-time translation, a video teleprompter, and interactive widgets. However, industry expectations suggest that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will transform this secondary screen into a more robust, independent interface rather than a mere extension of the main display.
On the front, rumors indicate that the smartphone will feature a relatively compact, flat display boasting a crisp 1.5K resolution.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to be an absolute powerhouse. Reports suggest the device will debut with Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor—the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro—which will be manufactured using TSMC’s cutting-edge 2-nanometer process, ensuring massive leaps in both performance and energy efficiency.
