HyperOS 3.1 Global Rollout Lands on First Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO Devices

HyperOS 3.1

Xiaomi is extending its latest HyperOS release beyond China, with HyperOS 3.1 now rolling out to the first wave of global devices starting in Europe. The update, based on Android 16, brings a mix of performance optimizations, interface refinements, and a few headline features such as Super OTA updates and native Apple AirPods support.

After debuting in China, HyperOS 3.1 is now arriving on international units of Xiaomi’s newest phones and tablets, beginning with the Xiaomi 17Xiaomi 17 UltraPOCO Pad, and Redmi Pad Pro in Europe. The current stable builds are labeled OS3.0.301.0.WPCEUXM for the Xiaomi 17, OS3.0.301.0.WPAEUXM for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and OS3.0.301.0.WNSEUXM for both POCO Pad and Redmi Pad Pro in the EU region. A wider global rollout is planned, but Xiaomi has not yet attached firm dates for other markets.

Owners of supported devices in Europe can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > About phone and tapping the HyperOS logo at the top to trigger a version check. As with previous Xiaomi releases, the update is being pushed out in stages, so availability may vary by device and country even within the same region.

HyperOS 3.1 is built on Android 16 and focuses heavily on system‑level optimization. Xiaomi says it has rewritten several core system apps and tuned resource management to reduce overhead, which should translate into faster app launches, smoother animations, and generally more responsive performance in everyday use. Early changelogs also mention improvements to stability, battery efficiency, and small design tweaks across system components like the launcher, gallery, and status bar.

One of the more visible additions is an expanded HyperIsland experience. Tablets such as POCO Pad and Redmi Pad Pro are receiving HyperIsland for the first time, while phones get an upgraded version with richer animations, tighter integration with third‑party apps, and more intuitive real‑time activity indicators along the top of the interface. The Recent apps screen has also been redesigned with a more iOS‑like card layout, smoother gesture navigation, and clearer visual grouping of running apps.

Under the hood, HyperOS 3.1 introduces Super OTA, Xiaomi’s new update mechanism designed to apply system updates more quickly and with less disruption. Super OTA processes much of the update work in the background, reducing reboot times and lowering the risk of failed installations compared to traditional OTA packages. Xiaomi positions this as a step toward more seamless, app‑like update behavior within the Android ecosystem

In a notable cross‑ecosystem move, HyperOS 3.1 also brings native Apple AirPods support. On compatible Xiaomi devices, users can now see pop‑up pairing dialogs, check battery status, and access features like spatial audio on supported AirPods models without relying on basic Bluetooth pairing alone. This change narrows the gap between Xiaomi phones and iOS when it comes to using Apple’s popular earbuds.

Xiaomi says more devices will be added to the HyperOS 3.1 rollout over the coming weeks as testing wraps up for additional models and regions. Users interested in following the rollout in detail can keep an eye on official HyperOS announcements, Xiaomi’s regional community forums, or tech news trackers dedicated to Xiaomi updates.
