HMD Crest 2 Pro Specs Leaked: 6,000mAh Battery and 120Hz AMOLED Display

HMD is reportedly preparing to aggressively expand its footprint in India’s highly competitive budget smartphone market. A recent wave of leaks surrounding the unannounced HMD Crest 2 Pro suggests the company is planning substantial hardware upgrades over its predecessors, the Crest and Crest Max, with a strong emphasis on battery endurance and display technology.
HMD Crest 2 Pro: Upgraded Display and Processing Power
According to details shared by prominent technology tipster @smashx_60 on X, the upcoming HMD Crest 2 Pro will feature a spacious 6.78-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. This marks a notable size increase from the 6.67-inch panels utilized in the previous generation. Furthermore, the display’s refresh rate has been bumped to 120Hz—up from the 90Hz standard on older models—promising a significantly smoother visual experience for scrolling and interface animations.
Under the hood, the smartphone is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. While this silicon is not designed for intensive, high-end gaming, it is precisely engineered to deliver reliable, efficient performance for everyday workloads, including communication, media consumption, and digital payments.
Record-Breaking Battery and Familiar Design
Endurance appears to be the primary selling point of the Crest 2 Pro. The leak points to a massive 6,000mAh battery, representing the largest power cell HMD has integrated into a smartphone to date. To replenish this high-capacity battery, the device will support 33W wired charging. While not the absolute fastest charging speed in the budget segment, it provides a practical balance for users prioritizing multi-day battery life.
Aesthetically, the leaked renders suggest that HMD is taking a conservative approach. The overall design language remains largely identical to the original Crest series, retaining the familiar square camera island on the rear and a slightly pronounced bottom bezel (chin) on the front.
HMD Crest 2 Pro: High-Resolution Imaging
In the camera department, the Crest 2 Pro is expected to sport a versatile triple-lens rear system. This array is reportedly led by a 64-megapixel primary sensor, complemented by an 8-megapixel secondary lens and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor. For front-facing optics, HMD is expected to include a high-resolution 50-megapixel camera, catering heavily to the selfie and video-calling demographic.
While HMD has not yet announced an official launch date or retail pricing, industry expectations place the Crest 2 Pro comfortably in the sub-₹20,000 tier. Considering the original HMD Crest and Crest Max debuted at ₹14,999 and ₹16,499 respectively, the Crest 2 Pro appears strategically positioned to offer a balanced, feature-rich alternative for entry-level consumers.
