Realme C85 India Launch Set for Nov 28: 7,000mAh Battery and IP69 Rating Confirmed
Realme is preparing to shake up the entry-level smartphone market in India once again. The company has officially confirmed that its latest C-series contender, the Realme C85, will make its debut on November 28, 2025, at 12 PM IST.
Teasers released ahead of the launch via a dedicated microsite on Flipkart suggest that the C85 is pivoting away from standard budget specifications, instead focusing on extreme endurance and rugged durability usually reserved for niche devices.
Ending “Battery Anxiety”
The headline feature of the Realme C85 is undeniably its power source. The device is confirmed to house a massive 7,000mAh battery, a capacity significantly larger than the 5,000mAh standard found in most modern smartphones.
Realme’s internal testing claims this power cell can deliver up to 22 hours of continuous video streaming, 50 hours of voice calling, or 145 hours of music playback on a single charge. Perhaps more impressive is the device’s efficiency at critical levels; the company asserts that even at just 1% battery, the phone can sustain up to 9 hours of standby time or 40 minutes of calling.
To manage this capacity, the phone supports 45W wired fast charging. It also doubles as a power bank, offering 6.5W reverse charging, allowing users to top up accessories like earbuds or smartwatches directly from the phone.
Flagship Durability on a Budget
In a surprising move for the budget segment, the Realme C85 is being marketed with IP69 water and dust resistance. While IP68 is common in flagships, IP69 indicates protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets—a rating typically found only in specialized rugged phones. Coupled with “military-grade” shock resistance, the device appears built to withstand harsh environments.
The Display Discrepancy: An India-Exclusive Upgrade?
The teaser reveals that the Indian variant of the Realme C85 will feature an AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. This is a notable deviation from the global market; when the C85 series launched in Vietnam earlier this month, the standard model utilized an LCD panel, while the AMOLED screen was reserved for the “Pro” variant.
This suggests that Realme is aggressively positioning the device in India, effectively offering Pro-level hardware under the standard C85 moniker to compete with rivals like Xiaomi and Samsung.
Rounding out the specifications is a 50MP Sony main camera on the rear, which will integrate AI tools for enhanced photography—another feature increasingly trickling down to affordable tiers.
With the launch just days away, industry eyes will be on the pricing strategy, which remains the final piece of the puzzle for this endurance-focused handset.
