Honor 500 Series Design Leaked: Horizontal Camera Resembles iPhone Air

Honor 500

Honor has officially begun teasing its upcoming Honor 500 smartphone series via its Weibo handle. The lineup, which is expected to include the base Honor 500 and the Honor 500 Pro, is being promoted with claims of featuring “all-round flagship-level configurations.”

While Honor has not yet disclosed official specifications or launch details, a combination of official teasers and early leaks provides a clear insight into what can be expected.

Honor 500 Design: Ultra-Slim Body and a New Camera Module

Official images shared by Honor confirm that both models will feature an ultra-slim body, which aligns with previous rumors of a sleek and lightweight design.

An additional promotional poster circulating on Chinese social media reveals a new horizontal, “racetrack-style” camera module. This design language is notably reminiscent of the look seen on the iPhone Air.

The poster also illustrates differences in the camera systems:

  • Honor 500 will feature a dual-camera setup.
  • Honor 500 Pro will include three cameras arranged horizontally.

A significant detail on the Pro version appears to be a dedicated camera button, which would likely enable quick capture and zoom controls.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Series and Phantom Engine 3.0

An Honor engineer has confirmed that the entire lineup will be powered by chipsets from the Snapdragon 8 series. Additionally, enhancements in gaming performance, driven by the brand’s proprietary Phantom Engine 3.0 technology, were highlighted.

According to earlier reports, the devices are expected to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips.

Honor 500 Specifications (Rumored)

Regarding other specifications, early reports suggest the Honor 500 series will feature a 6.55-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and high-frequency 4,320Hz PWM dimming.

The phones are expected to ship with MagicOS 10, based on Android 16.

The alleged camera system includes:

  • 50MP front camera
  • 200MP main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization)
  • 50MP ultra-wide lens
  • 64MP periscope telephoto lens (Pro model only)

Powering the devices is rumored to be an 8,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging (likely reserved for the Pro model). The list of other features includes dual speakers, infrared, NFC, and an IP68/69 dust and water resistance rating.

The Honor 500 series is speculated to launch in China on November 24th.
