OnePlus OxygenOS 17 Eligibility: Devices Likely Left Out of the Android 17 Upgrade

OxygenOS 17

OnePlus appears to have completed the rollout of OxygenOS 16 and may already be preparing its next major software release, OxygenOS 17, which is expected to be built on Android 17. While the upcoming update will likely introduce notable interface refinements, stronger privacy protections, improved security, and broader system enhancements, not every OnePlus device is expected to make the cut.

A number of older OnePlus smartphones and tablets are likely to miss the OxygenOS 17 upgrade because they have already reached the end of their promised software support window. Based on the company’s official update policy, these models are widely expected to remain on their current software version once OxygenOS 17 becomes available.

OnePlus devices likely to miss the OxygenOS 17 update

Among OnePlus flagship models, the devices expected to be excluded are the OnePlus 11R, OnePlus 10R, OnePlus 10T, and OnePlus 10 Pro. Older flagship phones are also unlikely to receive the update.

In the Nord lineup, the OnePlus Nord 3 is expected to miss out, along with older Nord smartphones. The same applies to the Nord CE family, where the OnePlus Nord CE 4 and OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite are also believed to be ineligible, in addition to earlier Nord CE models.

On the tablet side, both the OnePlus Pad and the OnePlus Pad Go are unlikely to be upgraded to OxygenOS 17.

Unofficial, but based on policy

It is worth noting that this list is unofficial. However, it aligns closely with OnePlus’ published software update commitments, which means the final outcome is unlikely to differ significantly. If your device appears on this list, there is a strong chance it will not receive OxygenOS 17 when the update eventually rolls out.

For users hoping to stay current with future Android and OxygenOS releases, upgrading to a newer eligible device may be the most practical option. OnePlus has also introduced select devices with much longer support windows, including models promised up to six years of software updates, offering a more future-proof alternative for buyers planning to hold onto their phones for the long term.
