Oppo K14x Launched at ₹14,999: The New 5G Battery King Under 15K?

Oppo has officially expanded its budget-friendly K-series portfolio in India with the launch of the Oppo K14x. While the device brings a significant upgrade in battery capacity and display brightness, it treads familiar ground in the performance department, retaining the same processor as its predecessor, last year’s K13x.
Endurance Over Raw Power The headline feature of the K14x is undoubtedly its stamina. Oppo has equipped the handset with a massive 6,500mAh battery, a significant capacity that targets users who prioritize multi-day usage over flagship performance. To minimize downtime, the device supports 45W SuperVOOC wired fast charging. Interestingly, it also serves as a portable power bank thanks to its reverse wired charging support.
However, under the hood, the device offers a sense of déjà vu. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, the exact same chipset found in the previous generation. This decision suggests Oppo is focusing on efficiency and cost rather than raw processing gains for this iteration. The chip is paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which remains expandable via a microSD card slot.
Display and Design Visually, the K14x sports a large 6.75-inch LCD panel. While the resolution is capped at HD+, the screen offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 1,125 nits, ensuring legibility even under direct sunlight—a rarity in this price segment.
The device is built to withstand the elements with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It retains practical features often missing in modern phones, including a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options are robust, featuring 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Cameras and Software On the imaging front, the phone carries a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor, accompanied by a standard 2MP depth lens. Video recording is capped at 1080p/60fps. The front of the device houses a modest 5MP selfie shooter, which may feel slightly outdated for social media-heavy users.
On the software side, the K14x ships with the latest ColorOS 15 out of the box, ensuring users have access to Oppo’s newest interface and features from day one.
Pricing and Availability The Oppo K14x is available in two colorways: Icy Blue and Prism Violet. It is positioned aggressively in the Indian market:
