HMD Pulse 2+ Specs Leaked: 120Hz Display, Android 15, and 50MP Camera

While HMD Global has been quiet about its roadmap for the new year, a fresh leak has potentially spoiled the surprise for its next entry-level contender. Detailed specifications for the upcoming HMD Pulse 2+ have surfaced, painting a picture of a device that prioritizes screen fluidity and software longevity over raw processing power.
The intelligence comes via the social media platform X, courtesy of the account HMD_MEME’S (@smashx_60), a source that has been active in tracking the brand’s developments. If the data holds true, the Pulse 2+ will serve as a direct successor to the original Pulse+ launched in April, bringing modest but meaningful upgrades to the table.
The most notable upgrade for budget-conscious buyers is likely the display. The Pulse 2+ is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel. While the resolution remains at HD+, the refresh rate has reportedly been pushed to 120Hz, a feature that should make scrolling and UI animations feel significantly smoother than on standard 60Hz or 90Hz budget panels.
HMD also appears to be focusing on durability, with the leak suggesting the use of Dragon Tail glass for screen protection and an IP54 rating, ensuring the device can handle dust ingress and water splashes.
Powering the handset is the Unisoc T615 chipset. This octa-core processor utilizes a configuration of two performance-oriented Cortex-A75 cores and six efficiency-focused Cortex-A55 cores.
For those tracking the year-over-year changes, this represents a slight bump from the Unisoc T606 found in the previous model. Benchmarking data from NanoReview suggests that while the T615 isn’t a powerhouse, it offers marginal gains in both CPU and GPU performance compared to its predecessor. The chip will reportedly be paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
In the imaging department, HMD seems to be sticking to a familiar formula but with a key adjustment for selfie lovers. The rear setup includes a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8 aperture with PDAF) and a secondary 2 MP sensor. However, the front-facing camera sees a resolution increase to 13 MP, up from the 8 MP shooter found on the original Pulse+.
Interestingly, the leak specifies support for 4.5G networks (LTE-Advanced Pro). This indicates that the device will likely skip 5G to keep costs down, instead relying on the bridge technology between standard LTE and 5G to offer improved latency and speeds where supported. The package also includes Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a “customizable hardware button,” a feature HMD has been experimenting with to offer users quick access to specific apps or functions.
Keeping the lights on is a standard 5,000mAh battery supported by 20W wired charging. Perhaps the strongest selling point for longevity, however, is the software: the phone is expected to ship with Android 15 out of the box, putting it ahead of many budget competitors still launching with older Android versions.
HMD has yet to officially comment on the leak, and pricing details remain under wraps. However, if these specifications are accurate, the Pulse 2+ is shaping up to be a solid, if iterative, update for the budget market.
