Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Launched: 10-Inch Screen

After months of speculation, leaks, and prototype teases, Samsung has finally made its move. The technology giant has officially unveiled its first-ever tri-fold smartphone—the Galaxy Z TriFold. Representing the culmination of Samsung’s expertise in the foldable sector, which now spans over 16 devices, this new flagship delivers the largest screen in Galaxy history alongside innovative software solutions and robust endurance.
Design: Dual Titanium Hinges and Inward Protection
The key engineering breakthrough on the Z TriFold lies in its dual titanium hinges. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, Samsung has opted for a different folding philosophy focused on protection. The two sides of the main screen fold inward toward the center, ensuring the delicate flexible panel remains completely shielded by the chassis when the device is closed. A separate cover screen is located on the back panel for use when folded.

The device will be available in a single, exclusive colorway: Crafted Black.
Display: A Tablet That Fits in Your Pocket
When fully unfurled, the Galaxy Z TriFold transforms into a massive workspace measuring 10 inches diagonally.
-
Main Display: Boasts a resolution of 2,160 x 1,584 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. A discreet punch-hole cutout houses a 10MP selfie camera.
-
Cover Display: A 6.5-inch panel with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, offering a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels and an impressive peak brightness of 2,600 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
Software: Standalone DeX Changes the Game
The device ships with One UI 8 based on Android 16. The expansive screen real estate is utilized for advanced multitasking, allowing users to run three full-sized apps simultaneously in portrait mode.
However, the true revolution is the introduction of Standalone Samsung DeX. For the first time, the desktop-like interface can be launched directly on the phone’s screen without the need for an external monitor. When paired with a wireless keyboard and mouse, the Z TriFold becomes a legitimate portable workstation.
Galaxy Z TriFold Hardware and Endurance
Under the hood, Samsung has opted for proven power. The device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. While this is a formidable chip (the same found in the Z Fold7), it is worth noting that it is a generation behind the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The processor is paired with 16GB of RAM and storage options of either 512GB or 1TB.

To power the triple-screen setup, Samsung has engineered a three-cell battery system with a total capacity of 5,600 mAh, distributed across the device’s panels. It supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The camera system is inherited from the Z Fold7, ensuring top-tier photography:
-
Main Camera: 200MP (ISOCELL HP2 sensor)
-
Telephoto: 10MP with 3x optical zoom
-
Ultrawide: 12MP
