OnePlus 13 Series Begins Receiving OxygenOS 16 in India

OnePlus has initiated the stable rollout of OxygenOS 16 update for its 2025 flagship Android devices, the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s. The highly anticipated update is arriving first for users in India before a broader, phased release to other regions.
The update, identified by build numbers CPH2649_16.0.0.210 (EX01) for the OnePlus 13 and CPH2723_16.0.0.211 (EX01) for the 13s, is far more than a routine security patch. It represents a fundamental reimagining of the user experience, built on four key pillars: advanced AI integration, a new “Parallel Processing” animation engine, the “Trinity Engine” for performance tuning, and a significant visual refresh.
Here is a professional breakdown of the most impactful changes based on the official changelogs.
1. The AI-Powered Core: ‘OnePlus AI’ Goes System-Wide
The clear centerpiece of OxygenOS 16 is the deep integration of artificial intelligence across native applications.
- Productivity Tools: A new “Mind Space” feature allows users to quick-save content (including from screenshots) which can then be searched by a “Mind Assistant.” The OnePlus 13s gains a “voice memory” shortcut via the Plus Key for dictating notes directly to Mind Space.
- Creative Apps: The Photos app is now infused with AI, featuring an “AI Portrait Glow” to improve faces in difficult lighting and the ability to convert motion photos into slow-motion. A more capable built-in video editor adds tools for splitting, merging, and adding transitions.
- Smart Assistance: “AI Writer” offers system-wide writing assistance for everything from social media posts to professional speeches. “AI Recorder” gains noise cancellation and automatic context detection (for meetings, lectures, etc.), while “AI VoiceScribe” provides smarter context-aware summaries.
2. A Focus on Fluidity: ‘Parallel Processing’ and ‘Luminous Rendering’
OnePlus is heavily focused on interface fluidity. A new “Parallel Processing” system ensures animations are more intuitive, with smoother drag-and-drop actions on the Home screen and cleaner transitions in Quick Settings and the status bar.
Visually, a new “Luminous Rendering Engine” introduces subtle light field motion effects and immersive, data-driven weather visuals. This is complemented by “One Serif,” a new system-wide serif font optimized for readability. Core apps like the Clock and Calculator have also been redesigned with more lifelike textures.
In the OxygenOS 16 Update, the OnePlus 13s gains an exclusive UI feature: interactive swipe-back previews, allowing users to see the previous page while gesturing and interrupt the action at any time.
3. Under the Hood: The ‘Trinity Engine’ and Power Management
Performance is governed by the next-generation Trinity Engine, which now uses real-time workload optimization to keep video, gaming, and camera use smooth. OnePlus claims this results in faster app launches, lower background power drain, and smarter task prioritization during gaming.
Battery life also sees significant tuning. A new network power-saving strategy is in place for offline or roaming scenarios, and the standard Power Saving mode now uses tiered performance management based on the remaining battery level.
4. The ‘Flux Home Screen’ and Deeper Connectivity
Personalization is enhanced via the “Flux Home screen.” Users can now resize icons and shortcuts, use larger folder layouts, and even remove icon text entirely for a minimalist look. The app drawer is also smarter, adding an index bar and auto-categorization.
A major update comes to OnePlus Connect (O+ Connect), which tightens the phone-to-PC ecosystem. It now supports screen mirroring, cross-device unlock, file transfers, and a shared clipboard.
Other Notable Changes:
- Camera (OnePlus 13): Motion photos are now available in Master mode, and an AI Doc Scanner has been added to clean up scans of documents and screens.
- Security: A “Phone Manager” on the OnePlus 13 provides Live Alerts for risky apps. Users can now also long-press any Home screen app to lock or hide it.
- Gaming: The Game Assistant can now take privacy-friendly captures that exclude notifications and supports simultaneous Motion screenshots and Flashback recording.
- Always-On Display: A new full-screen Always-On Display can show wallpaper, widgets, and notifications while the screen is off.
How to Get the OxygenOS 16 Update
The OxygenOS 16 rollout is staged, meaning it will reach a small percentage of users in India first, with a wider release following in the coming days and weeks.
Users can check for eligibility by navigating to Settings > System & Updates > Software update. If the Beta Program is open, users on the prerequisite build can also join the Release Candidate Program via that menu to receive the update.
