Redmi K90 Pro Max Launched: 7,560mAh Battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off its most aggressive smartphone to date, the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Launched today in its home market of China after weeks of mounting anticipation, the device shatters the boundaries of Redmi’s “budget flagship” category, packing specifications that directly rival its premium-tier Xiaomi 17 series counterparts.
The K90 Pro Max signals its ambitions immediately with a refined build quality that looks strikingly familiar. It adopts the premium design language of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, featuring flat metallic edges and a prominent rectangular camera island. This module houses three sensors, an LED flash, and, in a unique move, a dedicated rear-facing speaker tuned by “Sound by Bose.”
Durability has not been compromised, with Xiaomi confirming a top-tier IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Alongside standard colors, the company unveiled a notable denim blue variant, which reportedly reproduces the physical texture and feel of real denim without sacrificing resistance to dirt, wear, and scratches.
A Display and Battery from the Premium Shelf
Up front, the K90 Pro Max borrows the exact same panel as the flagship Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: a massive 6.9-inch M10 OLED display. It features a 2K+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, uniform bezels on all four sides, and an incredible 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel also includes Xiaomi’s Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0, ensuring full-brightness DC dimming and glare reduction for extended use.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of storage. To support the elite performance, Redmi has included a dedicated D2 graphics chip for an enhanced gaming experience, kept in check by a large 6,700mm² 3D ice-cooling system.
Perhaps the most staggering specification is the battery. The K90 Pro Max is powered by a gigantic 7,560mAh battery, a capacity that dwarfs nearly every other flagship on the market. This is supported by 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.
A “First” for Redmi Cameras and Bose Audio
The camera system is a hybrid of Xiaomi’s best. The main sensor is the 50MP 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950, lifted directly from the standard Xiaomi 17. This is complemented by a 50MP OV50M ultrawide lens and, in a first for any Redmi smartphone, a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
Audio is another major highlight. The K90 Pro Max boasts a powerful 2.1 channel audio system, featuring two ultra-linear speakers and a large, independent bass unit located in the rear-facing speaker grille, all professionally tuned by Bose.

The Redmi K90 Pro Max, running Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0, is available immediately in China in gold, white, black, and the special denim edition. Early buyers will receive two years of accidental screen damage protection and two years of battery coverage.
