Xiaomi HyperOS 3 Official: AI Features, Visual Overhaul, and Rollout Plans

Xiaomi has officially announced HyperOS 3, the company’s latest software update for smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs. Presented at an event in China, the update introduces AI-driven features, a redesigned interface, smoother performance, and deeper cross-device integration.

Performance and Core Improvements

HyperOS 3 builds on last year’s HyperCore engine. According to Xiaomi, CPU load has been reduced by 4%, while energy efficiency improves by 10%. Frame loss rates are down nearly 19%, and a new hot-swappable scheduling mechanism optimizes gaming performance. Users can expect:

  • 21% faster app launches

  • 10% better video playback performance

  • 9% lower touch response latency

More than 100 system animations have also been refined to make the software feel smoother and more responsive.

Visual Changes and New Interface Features

A major new addition is Xiaomi Super Island, a dynamic hub for monitoring live activities and notifications, with support for over 70 services. HyperOS 3 also introduces:

  • AI-powered dynamic wallpapers with depth effects

  • Redesigned icons and desktop grids

  • Cinematic lock screens with unified wallpaper and lock screen editing tools

  • An updated Photo Album with intelligent search and automatically curated Pet Albums

AI Enhancements

HyperOS 3 expands the role of AI in everyday use:

  • Super XiaoAi Assistant now recognizes on-screen content and provides context-based answers.

  • A new circle-to-act feature lets users circle content to trigger actions such as search, translation, or sharing, similar to Google’s Circle to Search.

Cross-Device Integration

One of the update’s biggest pushes is tighter integration across platforms. With HyperOS 3, users can:

  • Open up to three mobile app windows on a Mac

  • Unlock their Xiaomi phones using Touch ID or Face ID

  • Share files and view photos seamlessly across Xiaomi and iOS devices

Privacy and Security

Xiaomi adds:

  • Two-factor authentication for multi-device login

  • Improved data protection and app permission controls

  • A new ability to locate lost devices even if they are powered off

Rollout Timeline (China)

HyperOS 3 begins its beta rollout from August 29, with a phased schedule for eligible devices.

Phase 3 (by September 30): Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, MIX Flip, Xiaomi 14 series (incl. Titanium editions), Redmi K70 series, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4

This roadmap applies only to China. Global rollout timelines will be announced later.
