Welcome the new CEO: Pekka Lundmark today starts as the new President and CEO of Nokia

Starting today, Saturday 1st August 2020, the Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia has a new President and CEO. As was announced on 24th June, Pekka Lundmark started today as the new CEO and President of Nokia.

Pekka Lundmark succeeded now the former CEO and President Rajeev Suri, who lead Nokia after the sale of the historic Devices and Services business back in the period of 2013, 2014. Rajeev Suri was one of the key people in Nokia Networks, and making networks become the core business of Nokia after selling the phone unit to Microsoft.

Before becoming the CEO of Finland’s most famous company Nokia, Pekka Lundmark was the CEO of Finnish leading energy company Fortum. He also worked for Nokia from 1990 to 2000 at various executive positions.

We welcome the new CEO and wish him all the luck, especially in these turbulent times with COVID, technological cold war and 5G deployment.
