Nokia Mobile updated the official update tracker on July 21, 2020

Nokia Mobile updated its Smartphone Security Maintenance Release Summary page on July 21, 2020. The summary briefly presents the details about the first date of the security patches (SP) and/or maintenance releases (MR) for Nokia smartphones, along with the SP version and the Software (SW) ID.

As per the updated summary, the July 2020 security update is rolling out for Nokia 2.2, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 8, Nokia 8.1, and Nokia 9 PureView. Some other smartphones like the Nokia 1.3, Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 5.3, and Nokia 6.2 are also receiving the July patch, but they are not mentioned in the summary. The rest are yet to receive the latest security update.

The Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6, which entered into the quarterly security update cycle in October, 2019 will get their second last (quarterly) security update this month. The Nokia 1 finally received the Android 10 Go update starting July 7 with the June security update, but Nokia Mobile is yet to release it for Nokia 2.1 and Android 10 update for Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1.

To find information about your device in the summary, select your Nokia smartphone from the drop-down menu and find the SW ID, that resembles the one that you have on your device in the ‘About’ section in the ‘Settings’.

If you have any questions on the update roll-out process, Nokia Mobile has also answered the frequently asked questions (FAQs), describing the approved markets and waves in which the devices receive the update.

Note: The updated summary wrongly shows the June security update for the Nokia 2.1 based on Android 10 Go, which in reality is based on Android 9 Go.
