KaiOS phones in India support Google read and translate text

KaiOS looks like the perfect OS that could bridge the gap between the feature and super affordable smartphones. With its business deal with Google, KaiOS brought Google services and apps to the phones like Nokia 2720 Flip or some Jio phones, and now the services that Google is offering just got better. Now the users and owners of KaiOS running devices can start using Google Lens, a useful feature that can help you read and understand many languages. Now the Google Assistant has a camera button that will take you to the camera where you can take a picture of a specific text or a sign which will be translated, read in your language, or defined by Google.

This option is currently available in India for English and several Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, and Tamil, and will soon be available in Kannada and Gujarati. Users can simply press the right soft key once within the Assistant to access and use this feature.

Here in Europe, we are currently not able to test this option, and I don’t know if we ever will be. But, the owners of KaiOS running Nokia phones do share your experiences with this option in the comments.

Cheers SirFaceFone for the tip 😉
