Even though mobile phones aren’t the most environmentally friendly product, they can be recycled, and some materials reused.
During the times when Nokia was a manufacturer of mobile phones, it focused a lot on the sustainable way of building things and took a lot of care to make its phones as environmentally friendly as it is possible. Nokia Mobile continued following Nokia’s way of doing things so they just published an environmental profile of Nokia 7.2 and 6.2. There you can see that the box of Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 contains 50% of recycled materials and it is fully recyclable too. Also, 96% of devices can be recycled or converted into some form of energy.
There you can also see the estimated proportions of materials used to make 6.2 and 7.2, and it is fun to know that your phone consists of:
- Metal: 28%
- Battery: 26%
- Plastic: 20%
- Glass: 19%
- Other: 7%
