Nokia 6 2018 concept by Suomimobiili.fi

After Chinese retailer Suning started teasing the soon arrival of Nokia 6’s successor, the rumored Nokia 6 (2018), under the model number TA-1054, appeared in Geekbench’s database. The entry was spotted by telefoonabonnement.nl‘s news site.

The Geekbench info shows us that the Nokia 6 (2018) TA-1054 will be powered by Qulacomm’s Snapdragon 630, in combination with 4GB of RAM. The interesting thing is that the device that passed the Geekbench test was running Android 8.0 Oreo, while the published specifications from TENAA showed Android 7.1.1 as the OS. If we combine this new info from Geekbench and the already available from TENNA, specifications of Nokia 6 2018 should look like this:

  • Dimensions: 148.8 Γ— 75.8 Γ— 8.15 (mm)
  • Mass: 172 g
  • Screen: 5.5 inch, 1080Γ—1920 pixels, 16M colours
  • Processor: Snapdragon 630 (Octa core, 4*2.2GHz+4*1.9GHz)
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Internal memory: 32/64 GB, microSD up to 128GB
  • Camera: 16MP back + 8MP front
  • Battery: 3000 mAh
  • OS: Android 7.1.1/Android 8.0.0
  • Color options: White/Black/Blue

Keep in mind, Nokia 6 2018 under the model number TA-1054 is designated for China and the global variant of Nokia 6 2018 could differ from the Chinese. The announcement of Nokia 6 2018 is expected to happen in 3 days, so stay tuned. πŸ™‚

    Any information about bothie??

    • No, that option was found on beta version installed from Oreo, isn’t working now. Probably Nokia 6 can’t handle bothie

      • Manpreet Singh

Can you tell me the no. Of countries where Xiaomi is very popular brand like india…

        • Xiaomi has become very popular brand. But please stick to the topic. Thx

          • Manpreet Singh

Well i just saw the rumours of redmi note 5 coming in q2. And that will be the biggest competitor for nokia 6 That’s why i was talking about Xiaomi

          • We will see once the devices come out. Per rumors, Redmi Note 5 seems to be a more powerful device, but HMD isn’t really in a specifications race in the middle class (because they will lose, no matter what they do), but more about offering a nice looking device that is overall worth the money.

          • Manpreet Singh

Ok. We will see but you said they will loose no mAtter what they do if they are in specs race. How can you say this i mean if they have invested in sd 625 a year ago instead of build and updates they would have blown the market… But I’m happy they didπŸ‘

          • I mean, there will always be a Chinese manufacturer that will offer better specifications for money. Look at every globally available phone brand, like Samsung, Huawei, LG, Sony, in every price segment (excluding flagships) you will find a Xiaomi, Oppo, Meizu or other with better specifications.
If Nokia 6 had a better processor, the price would’ve been higher or HMD had to cut costs on build quality, speakers, screen etc. Again some compromise would be made, because HMD cannot lose money on the devices, they still have to pay licenses.

          • I wasn’t at all happy with the speaker output of Nokia 6. Was just too low.

          • Muerte

Actually Nokia 6 has very nice speaker output. Maybe you have had a faulty device?

          • Not for the Indian Environment. It isn’t much loud. Similarly priced samsung phones have much louder speakers πŸ™‚

          • Muerte

Hmm… Do you value only dB and not the sound quality? As Nokia 6 is exceptionally good in its price range:

            http://nokiamob.net/2017/06/28/video-dolby-atmos-on-nokia-6-is-amazing/

          • Yes, but that’s TA-1000 from China. Amazing sound. The global variant is not so loud, but with Dolby Atmos on, the sound was really really good.

          • If you compare conditions in China and India they are more or less similar with lot of noise and traffic and hence the phone speakers should be louder. Hence, the Chinese variant might be louder. πŸ™‚
EDIT: I tried Dolby Atmos on the Nokia 6 and it had very little effect when outdoors. In indoor situations we can notice the change very well like you shared in the video. πŸ™‚

          • For a few weeks that I used it, I could barely watch videos without the volume at max or a level below.

India is full of noises πŸ˜‚. Always curse the streets when I plan to do a video recording. Horns horns horns.. Construction, horns!!

          • Ab toh mere ghar ke neeche Tod fod bhi kar rahe hai. πŸ™

          • We can get better sound quality along with louder speakers too. πŸ™‚ That is what i expect. πŸ™‚

Nokia is special for its build quality why u people dont understand they remains for life long and can be use lateron a few years later as a backup device as nokia have proved in previous years. Only numbers doesnt matter my nokia 6 is running smooth no lag. And even a slight lag is bearable what will be the difference in about 500 millisonds/1sec or hardly 2sec difference between the two?. Nokia 6 have a better sound quality better durability. Can i compare nokia mobiles durability with xiaomi?

          • Manpreet Singh

At the end of my comment i said I’m happy what they did.. coz i also bought nokia 6.

  • Don’t know about the new Nokia 6. The old one cant do it now on Oreo Beta.

  • Bad single core score. And SD630 is 2.20Ghz max. So why is it running at 2.21? Looks edited 😐
