HMD Global today approved Google’s July Security update for Nokia 6 TA-1003 that is available in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The update is 149MB big and brings only the Google Security Patch, without any phone-related improvement by HMD. It’s interesting that Nokia 6 is the first device to receive the July security update, even before the Pixel. The changelog is not yet available.
The Nokia 6 TA-1000 is still waiting for the June security update, but there is not much HMD could do, because the updates for TA-1000 have to pass government approval before hitting a device, and that takes time. We wrote more about the differences between TA-1000 and TA-1003 here.
Thanks Viccky for the tip. 🙂
