HMD Global yesterday introduced 4 new Nokia-branded smartphones: Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 6Arte Black Limited Edition; and the feature phone Nokia 3310 (2017). Guys from fonearena set down with Ajey Mehta, India VP at HMD Global, who shed light on the company’s local and global plans.
HMD, or better to say Foxconn plans to manufacture these phones in India from day one. The new Nokia Android phones are expected to hit stores in India by June this year. The phones will be sold in offline stores through a network of distribution partners and online as well. HMD will have a greater focus on after sales services and will have a network of service centres across India.
The Nokia 3 is priced at 139 euros or Rs.9800 approximately, Nokia 5 is priced at 189 euros or Rs.13300 approximately and the Nokia 6 is priced at 229 euros or Rs.16000 approximately. Most popular feature phone of all time, the Nokia 3310, is in an all new avatar and it will be coming to India, too. The complete portfolio will support dual SIM functionality, as well. The Nokia 3,5,6 will also support Jio’s 4G VoLTE networks as there is support for Band 3,Band 40 and Band 5.
